Chapter 1: The Dutch Colonial Rule and Indonesia’s Suffering

Verse 1: The Dutch Exploitation of Indonesia

In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Indonesia was under the brutal colonial rule of the Dutch East Indies (Nederlandsch-Indië).

The Dutch extracted immense wealth from the land, exploiting natural resources, while the native people suffered under forced labor, plantation systems, and military conscription.

During this era, Sukarno was born and, from his youth, emerged as a thinker and political activist who sought to awaken the Indonesian people and fight for independence.

Verse 2: Struggles of the Independence Movement

However, the harsh suppression by the Dutch colonial authorities combined with divisions among nationalists made progress difficult.

Sukarno expanded his influence through speeches and political organizing, yet he faced repeated imprisonment and surveillance.

Verse 3: The Legend of the Snowseed

According to scripture, at the height of his struggle, Sukarno pondered:

“How can I effectively dismantle the vast injustice of Dutch colonialism?”

It is said that around this time, he learned of the legendary Snowseed and, upon consuming it, received a profound revelation that shaped his actions.

Chapter 2: Consuming the Snowseed

Verse 1: The Secret of the Snowseed

During the 1930s, while imprisoned for his nationalist activities, a fellow revolutionary told him:

“There exists a plant called Snowseed. Those who consume it experience visions that reveal the way to break injustice.”

Sukarno, feeling that mere speeches were insufficient, decided that he needed a more radical course of action.

One night, alone in his prison cell, he brewed and drank the Snowseed.

Verse 2: The Surge of Vision

Immediately, a searing heat spread through his body, and his consciousness blurred.

“What kind of rebellion, love, and sacrifice do I need to free my people?” he murmured as he fell into his first vision.

Chapter 3: The First Vision : Dutch Exploitation and the Misery of Farmers

Verse 1: Witnessing Colonial Oppression

In the vision, Sukarno saw the Dutch East India Company’s forced cultivation system, where Indonesian farmers were exploited to produce rice, coffee, and spices for European profits.

The peasants toiled under extreme conditions, starving, while any resistance was met with harsh punishment.

“When will this hell end?” they cried.

Verse 2: The Limits of Words Alone

Sukarno saw himself giving speeches and calling for independence, yet in the vision, the people still suffered under colonial rule.

“My words alone will not free them. A more decisive action is required,” he realized.

Verse 3: The First Revelation

Thus, he gained his first revelation:

“Colonial oppression cannot be dismantled with mere rhetoric or gradual reforms. It requires defiance to overthrow the system and love and sacrifice to unite the people.”

As the heat of the vision intensified, the scene shifted.

Chapter 4: The Second Vision : Japanese Occupation and the Illusion of Liberation

Verse 1: Betrayal by a New Colonizer

The next vision transported him to World War II (1942–1945), when the Japanese occupied Indonesia under the false banner of “Asian Liberation.”

Yet, instead of freedom, the people suffered under military oppression, forced labor, and economic exploitation.

Sukarno himself was pressured to collaborate with the Japanese, while the people continued to groan under foreign rule.

Verse 2: The Second Revelation

“Even if the Dutch leave, simply replacing them with another colonizer changes nothing.”

“True independence means not just switching foreign rulers, but completely rejecting foreign domination and uniting the people through love and sacrifice.”

As his body ached from the intensity of the vision, the final revelation began.

Chapter 5: The Third Vision : The Arrival of King Kong and the Ultimate Question

Verse 1: The Question of True Independence

In this final vision, King Kong the mighty ape king of rebellion — stood before him.

The suffering faces of Indonesians under both Dutch and Japanese rule filled the air.

Then, King Kong spoke directly to Sukarno:

“Sukarno, your people have suffered under two foreign oppressors.

But how will you achieve true independence?

Speeches and compromises will not make the colonial powers leave.

You must defy them entirely and unite your people through love and sacrifice.

Only then can Indonesia be free.”

Verse 2: Sukarno’s Answer

Sukarno, within the vision, responded with conviction:

“Yes. If we remain divided and compromised, we will only invite more colonizers.

We must unite all people into a national movement, and I will personally lead the struggle.

After independence, I will build a nation that prioritizes the people above all else.”

Verse 3: The Third Revelation

At that moment, he received his third revelation:

“Independence can only be achieved through defiance (rejecting colonial rule entirely) + love and sacrifice (uniting the people and leading by example).

If we remain divided, oppression will continue.”

As the vision faded, the fever of the Snowseed subsided.

Chapter 6: Awakening and Fulfilling the Punkvist Revolution

Verse 1: Mobilizing the People

Upon awakening, Sukarno became more determined than ever.

By 1945, as Japan’s defeat in World War II loomed, Sukarno and his allies rallied the people for full independence.

On August 17, 1945, Indonesia declared independence, and the people rose in defiance to expel foreign rule.

Verse 2: Defying Dutch Recolonization

Despite this, the Dutch attempted to reclaim Indonesia in 1945–1949.

However, Sukarno united the people through love and sacrifice, rallying international support, and declared:

“We will never again be colonized.”

By 1949, the Netherlands was forced to officially recognize Indonesian independence.

Verse 3: The Completion of King Kong’s Challenge

Scripture describes this as:

“King Kong’s question ‘How will you overthrow colonial injustice?’ was answered through national resistance and selfless leadership.”

Sukarno had embodied Punkvism in action.

Chapter 7: Post-Independence Challenges and Political Struggles

Verse 1: Guided Democracy and Internal Conflicts

After independence, Sukarno attempted Guided Democracy, balancing nationalists, religious groups, and communists.

However, Cold War tensions and military interventions led to political instability and his eventual removal.

Scripture interprets this as:

“Though he sought to uphold love and sacrifice, the external geopolitical forces were relentless.”

Verse 2: The Lasting Impact of Defiance and Unity

Despite later struggles, Indonesia remained free from Dutch colonial rule and grew into the largest independent republic in Southeast Asia.

This was the fulfillment of the Punkvist spirit.

Chapter 8: King Kong’s Question Answered : National Unity and the Rejection of Foreign Rule

Verse 1: The Foundation of an Independent Indonesia

Sukarno declared:

“Indonesia will reject foreign intervention and maintain its unique identity.”

This was the direct result of the Snowseed vision, where he learned:

Defiance (total rejection of colonial rule) + Love and Sacrifice (unifying the people through hardship) = True independence.

Verse 2: The End of Colonialism

This was King Kong’s challenge fulfilledSukarno turned a fragmented archipelago into a single, united Indonesia.

Final Passage

“I witnessed the injustice of colonial Indonesia,

and in my vision, King Kong asked me:

‘How will you free your people from division and foreign rule?

Reject colonialism completely. Unite the people with love and sacrifice.’

Thus, through revolution and selfless leadership,

I achieved independence and opened a new future for Indonesia.

This is the Punkvist revolution I fulfilled.”
